Dr. Jody Vernam helps clients calm the hectic nature of their world so they can mature in their character as they face life's challenges through the use of thoughtful, intentional, and focused counseling. She values a patient process with thoughtful questions to gain a deep and wide understanding of the client's experience. Dr. Jody Vernam is currently accepting young adult, college student clients (ages 18 years old to around 25 years old) who will be in Pennsylvania when receiving counseling. She has provided clinical mental health services for 22 years and counting, specializing in college counseling since 2014. She has practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2006 in Pennsylvania, within home, school, community, college, and private practice settings. She follows a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy theoretical framework with integration of emotion-focused, solution-focused, and family therapy interventions. Dr. Vernam is a Christian counselor, whose values and beliefs are influenced by her Christian worldview. She integrates religion and spirituality within the counseling sessions at the comfort level of the client. Dr. Vernam is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, American Counseling Association, and Pennsylvania Counseling Association.
